The Amauris Hotels
The luxury boutique hotel The Amauris in the centre of Vienna attaches great importance to offering its guests a sustainable and environmentally friendly way of travelling. With this in mind, regional suppliers from Europe were increasingly used for the furnishing of the hotel. The switch to an energy-efficient lighting system as well as a modern district heating and cooling system contributes to the reduction of CO₂ emissions. In addition, the use of state-of-the-art online solutions in daily operations, the latest technology throughout the building and the use of tablets saves valuable resources such as paper. Furthermore, The Amauris Vienna relies on environmentally friendly cleaning products and sustainable care products, which are provided in the rooms. The hotel actively promotes waste separation and reduction through a comprehensive recycling program. The room keys are also made of high-quality cardboard to minimize the use of plastic. For this reason, only drinks in glass bottles are available in the minibar. The gourmet restaurant Glasswing follows a zero-waste approach.
Breakfast is deliberately offered à la carte in order to reduce food waste to a minimum. The philosophy of sustainability is also reflected in the origin of the ingredients: both in the restaurant and in the Bar & Bistro, products from regional producers are used, which guarantee the highest quality and freshness.
A central element is the galley, in which purchased food is carefully pickled, fermented and dried to extend its shelf life and minimise waste. A planned highlight of the Glasswing is the roof garden, which will open in the near future. Here, their own herbs and vegetables are to be grown in an environmentally friendly way, which are used directly in the dishes. This concept underlines the restaurant’s commitment to sustainability and regional ties.
Real Estate
The company also strives to construct and operate all properties in the most resource-efficient way possible.
